The Bessborough Brass began as a chamber group affiliated with the Fifteenth Field Artillery Regiment Band, based in the Bessborough Armoury in Vancouver. After several years, the brass quintet added a percussionist which made playing popular music and jazz more authentic and allowed the group to expand its repertoire. Over the years, the Bessborough Brass has performed hundreds of engagements for military and political dignitaries in their capacity as military musicians. They have entertained Prime Ministers and Governors General of Canada, Consuls General from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands and members of the Royal Family. About the Quintet
